Nine Lives Greece – Οι Εφτάψυχες is a Greek charity established in 2006 and helps cats now, through feeding and care, and for the future, by neutering and rehoming.
Our main aim is the humane reduction of the stray cat overpopulation through trap-neuter-return programmes. Each year, we get hundreds of stray cats in Athens neutered/spayed, greatly reducing the numbers of unwanted kittens born each season, and ensuring a healthier adult cat population.
We also improve the quality of life for existing street cats through feeding programmes (on a daily basis, we feed nearly 450 stray and abandoned cats in central Athens), routine anti-parasite treatment, and veterinary care for ill or injured felines.
In addition, we try to find loving, responsible homes for as many stray or abandoned cats and kittens as possible. We are just a handful of volunteers who dedicate our spare time to the stray cats, we have no office, no shelter facilities, no animal ambulance or transport van, and we receive no state funding or assistance.

Last October '19 I had the privilege to join Maria, a volunteer of Nine Lives Greece, on her feeding round of a few of the stray cat colonies of central Athens in Greece. Check out my little vlog (click the video above) of my experience and how every euro would help these stray kitties.
It takes around 900 euros per month alone to feed all their colonies....not to mention the medical emergencies and TNR's (Trap, Neuter and Return) they do to help the population to stay somewhat in control.
Please consider helping them by donating, adopting or helping them as a volunteer. For more information check their website www.ninelivesgreece.com 🙏🏻
My little boy Ollie is from Nine Lives Greece and trust me...he is the best kitty I could wish for! ♥️
Nine Lives Greece - I will help as much as I can spreading the word of your beautiful work for the cats of Athens & I am sure we will meet more often!
